Therapeutic Mental Health Services for Total Wellness
Individual Therapy
Individual therapy is also called therapy, psychotherapy, psychosocial therapy, talk therapy, and counseling. While counseling focuses on specific issues and is designed to help a person address a particular problem, such as addiction or stress management, Psychotherapy focuses on a broader range of issues and their sources.
Couples Therapy
Featuring PACT® a Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy
Couples therapy or marriage counseling is different from individual therapy in a number of ways. While individual therapy clearly focuses on the individual and the network of relationships around him/her, PACT® couples therapy focuses on the couple as the sole unit, and how they primarily interact with each other.
Group Therapy
Featuring Brené Brown’s The Daring Way™ and Rising Strong Teachings
As an alternative to or along with individual psychotherapy, group therapy can be a fulfilling and rewarding experience. To work with depth and meaning with a group of one’s peers provides identification and support in a safe environment with like-minded people.Â

 Therapeutic Approaches, and Perspectives
Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a counseling approach developed in part by clinical psychologists William R. Miller and Stephen Rollnick. It is a directive, client-centered counseling style for eliciting behavior change by helping clients to explore and resolve ambivalence.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a psycho-social intervention that aims to improve mental health. CBT focuses on challenging and changing unhelpful cognitive distortions and behaviors, improving emotional regulation, and the development of personal coping strategies that target solving current problems.
The 12 Step Program is a set of guiding principles outlining a course of action for recovery from addiction, compulsion, or other behavioral problems.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an interactive psychotherapy technique used to relieve psychological stress. During EMDR therapy sessions, you relive traumatic or triggering experiences in brief doses while the therapist directs your eye movements using a number of tools such as pulsars, two fingers, tapping, or lightboxes.
TRM® (Traumatic Resilience Model) Was developed by Elaine Miller-Karas, LCSW, and Laurie Leitch, Ph.D. It is a body-centered approach that explores the biology of fear and threat and the autonomic, natural defensive responses that occur when faced with a life-threatening and/or dangerous situation.
Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy is an approach to psychotherapy that uses cognitive behavioral therapy methods in collaboration with mindfulness meditative practices and similar psychological strategies. It was originally created to be a relapse-prevention treatment for individuals with major depressive disorder.
The goal of the Rising Strong Process is to rise from our falls, overcome our mistakes, and face hurt in a way that brings more wisdom and wholeheartedness into our lives. Hurt doesn’t go away simply because we don’t acknowledge it.
The Daring Way™ is a highly experiential curriculum based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown, who has spent the past 12 years studying vulnerability, courage, worthiness, and shame. The methodology is designed to help people to show up, be seen, and live braver lives.
Developed by Dr. Stan Tatkin, PACT is a fusion of attachment theory, developmental neuroscience, and arousal regulation. PACT has a reputation for effectively treating the most challenging couples.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)Â is a form of counseling and a branch of clinical behavior analysis. It is an empirically-based psychological intervention that uses acceptance and mindfulness strategies mixed in different ways with commitment and behavior-change strategies, to increase psychological flexibility.
If you’re struggling with challenges such as depression, trauma, PTSD, anxiety, grief, addictions, stresses from COVID-19, substance abuse, spiritual issues, or personality disorders, perhaps you will allow me to help as your psychotherapist. I work with individuals, adolescents, couples, and families of all faiths and sexual orientations.
