About Angela Aiello LMFT, Ph.D. Lic#45128

Dr. Angela Aiello Psychotherapist, specializes in Substance Abuse, Attachment Disorders, PACT® (Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy), Daring Way & Rising Strong by Brené Brown, Trauma, Mood and Personality Disorders, and Mindfulness.
Dr. Angela Aiello received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute and is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Masters in Family Therapy from Antioch University, graduating both programs with honors. She has also completed a year-long certificate of Psychoanalytic studies at the Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis.  She completed her internships at the Matrix Institute on Addictions and Aids Project Los Angeles. Afterward, she completed another year-long study in Mindfulness and Buddhist psychology at the Center for Mindfulness and Psychotherapy and is considered a leader in 12 step spirituality within the recovery community, dovetailing that spiritual program with trauma infused therapies. In addition to psychodynamic and relational therapies, Dr. Aiello is also trained in EMDR levels I and II, Motivational Interviewing, CBT, Relapse Prevention models, and TRM: Trauma Resilience Model, a somatically based trauma modality as well as facilitator certificates in The Daring Way™ and Rising Strong, a highly experiential methodology based on the research of Dr. Bréne Brown, Ph.D., LCSW.
She is also a Level 2 PACT® Couple Therapist.  PACT® is a psychobiological approach to couple therapy based on the work of Dr. Stan Tatkin, author of the best-selling book on couple work, Wired For Love.

In addition to her successful private practice, she has worked in intensive in and out-patient facilities for over 15 years including 10 years as a Primary and Group Therapist at Promises Professional Treatment as well as the Center for Professionals in Recovery working with impaired physicians, dentists, attorneys and business executives with professional or license issues.  She has experience in creating IOP outpatient programs and supervision of interns and pre-licensed mental health and addiction counselors.

Brittny McCarthy

Brittny McCarthy is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist Lic#107227 working under the supervision of Dr. Aiello, LMFT

Before becoming a psychotherapist, Brittny worked for more than a dozen years in education policy, advising members of Congress, university Presidents, researchers, and other policy leaders. She has taught yoga since 2007, owned a community yoga studio in West Los Angeles, and is certified through the Yoga Alliance as an E-200 RYT/500 RYT.

Incorporating more than 15 years of yoga, meditation, and mindfulness practices into her therapeutic work, she is completing her 3,000 hours of supervised professional experience. In addition to seeing adults, couples, and children in private practice, she provides therapy to children at an LAUSD elementary school.

Brittny’s MFT is from the University of Southern California; she also holds a Master’s and Ph.D. in education policy and organizational leadership from the University of Minnesota, as well as a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
